Drying room or freeze-drying room

Place where the material to be freeze-dried is placed. It can have different shapes, with sublimation compartments to transfer water from solids to vapor. The closure is sealed and vacuum operated.

 
 
 

Condenser with cooling circuit

It communicates with the drying chamber and is the place where the steam generated during the sublimation process is condensed. The coolant keeps it at a lower temperature (-50 to -125 ºC) than the drying chamber.

Precautions for Freeze Dryer

 

 

● The ambient temperature and humidity of the freeze dryer should be maintained at 10℃-30℃, and the relative humidity should be <80%
● The working environment of the freeze dryer should be used in an environment free from conductive dust, explosive, corrosive gases and strong electromagnetic fields.
● The use and maintenance of the freeze dryer must be strictly in accordance with the requirements, especially the inspection and replacement of the pump oil. When the cumulative working time reaches 200 hours or the color of the vacuum pump oil turns brown, the pump oil should be replaced in time to prevent vacuum pump failure.
● Do not switch the refrigerant on and off frequently. Wait at least 3 minutes before restarting the refrigerator to prevent damage to the refrigerant.
● When shutting down, inflate first and then turn off the vacuum pump to prevent oil return from the vacuum pump from contaminating the sample.
● The connection between the plexiglass drying barrel and the host machine is sealed by a silicone sealing ring. The sealing ring must be kept clean to prevent scratches. The plexiglass cannot be wiped with organic solvents.
● After using the freeze dryer, the cold trap mouth and the moisture inside the cold trap should be wiped clean.
